Our Policy Making Process is set to be quite unique. Members would determine all the various Pro’s and Con’s to an issue as we debate the best way forward. This would closely align to our platform statement – in essence, using the best information available at the time. We would then weight the factors that affect that issue. The weightings help show the importance of that factor. Not every reason for/against has the same value – and this is a critical and often not acknowledged fact. Once settled, the scores would be added up to determine a policy direction.

The essential unique element here is that the policy direction is allowed to flex and change as new information is gathered, new technologies developed, or as prices, affordability and efficiencies change. New weightings of factors or new factors can be added in which may cement, tweak or change a policy direction.

The important difference here in comparison to other parties, is that the public will be able to see how decisions are made and changed when needed. Our party is all about transparency – including how we decide on how we vote! It is a shift from being worried about being blamed that you flip-flopped, to instead trusting in a party to do the right thing and that includes, when required, to change direction and be able to justify and explain why. Flip-flopping is frustrating to a voter when they are promised one thing (the popular option) and then, once in power, delivered another less-popular and unjustified option – and worse, a likely known outcome prior to the election. That’s not flip-flopping, that’s lying. Our transparency will help remove the veil as to what influences our policies – and so if it’s a decision because it will help our brother-in-law’s cousin’s company, then you will see it declared – but top tip: we (unlike other parties) won’t be back-hand dealing with anyone.

Below is a crude, yet visual, representation of how this website would display the decision making process of the party. Each policy decision will have its own diagram.
